The Everything Project

What is The Everything Project?

Bob Upgren's work-life passion is to help people become everything they were born to be.  Discovering your strengths, countering the culture, and using your gifts to serve others!  That's the foundation of the EVERYTHING PROJECT.

Do I really have things I am good at?

One of the most important discoveries you will ever make is about who you are and what you were created to be.  You are a masterpiece, a unique and divine work of art.  Your brain can store over 100 trillion facts and your mind can handle an amazing 15,000 decisions a second.  Your nose can smell 10,000 different odors and the average person can possess up to 700 different skills and abilities.  Your potential is far-reaching!

Like an original painting, you are one of a kind.  The fact of the matter is, there is no one else like you, which is why it is so important for you to discover the intricacies of your uniqueness.  Only you can be you!  No where in the world, is there another person like you, blessed with the same mix of talents, passions, skills, experiences and dreams.  You are not an assembly line product.  You are a custom designed, original work of art.  This is the fundamental concept of the Everything Project; to flush out your God-given gifts and align them with you areas of passion.  It is possible to be good at something, achieve excellent compensation but still not really enjoy it.  The Everything Project focuses on making sure your passions align with your gifting.

Who is the Everything Project for?

Great news!  The answer to this question is everyone!  Is there value to a Fortune 500 company if its employees improve their performance?  Of course.  How about a school with 1,000 little bodies running around wondering who they really are?  Would it be worthwhile to help them understand how they can be everything they were created to be?  Of course.  Do you think a mom or dad would welcome help in guiding a child toward the arena of life where they might find fulfillment?  Again, yes.

Churches can apply the Everything Project as a teaching tool or a study course for their congregation (the foundation of the Everything Project is Ephesians 2:10, "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.")  Colleges can provide students a valuable service by giving them unique insight into what they should be pursuing as a major and possible fuure profession.  The list goes on and on.

Traditionally, however, we ask the wrong question!

We need to stop asking people what they want to be when they growup.  This question promotes an outward search that become focused on what the culture shows as valuable but in truth, is vain at best.  Have you ever heard of someone who appeared to have it all but was frustrated at the lack of fulfillment in their job or life?  I have.  In an honest quest to become 'successful' by the cultures standards, many people neglect the unique calling that contunies to tug at their heart and mind.

The imbalance is frustrating to the person and others around them. In the end, it produces limited results and wastes valuable time.  It doesn't take long for you to feel like a square peg in a round hole.  Success isn't always about money.  Success isn't always about happiness.  Success is fulfillment by way of discovering the "sweet spot" of your life and using your God-given talents to serve others. Instead of asking someone what do you want to be when you grow up, why don't we start asking them what do you think you were born to do?  This encourages an inward journey to search out the unique gifts, talents, abilities and passions that make them who they are.  God to the Everything Project SERVICES to see different options for your group.

How is this different from the STRENGTHS MOVEMENT?

The Everthing Project is different in two distinct ways.  The first difference is the way the information is delivered to people.

The brain trust behind the Everything Project is leadership expert and master chalk artist, Bob Upgren.  As one of only three new-school chalk artists in the world, Upgren takes a blank canvas and transforms it into a masterpiece in ten minutes flat.  This masterpiece serves as a priceless metaphor used to reinforce the idea of how each person is a living masterpiece, unique and different. This visual presentation engages, inspires, and reinforces the importance and teaching.

The second profound difference in the Everything Project is one specific perspective that literally changes everything when talking about strengths.

Since the year 2000, schools, businesses, churches and organizations world-wide have recognized a heightened awareness regarding the importance of helping individuals discover their strenghts.  However, a very interesting trend has appeared.  As the awareness to leveraging individuals strengths has increased 17 percent, the actual amount of time per day these people use their strengths has decreased to 13 percent!  What this teaches is quite profound: there is a disconnect between understanding/accepting strenghts, and the actual application.  Not talking about what is causing this disconnect is ignoring the elephant in the room.  We know what the disconnect is, and we teach it! No longer can organizations or individuals ignore the significant impact culture has upon behavior.

So what is the next step?  How do I start the Everything Project?

A great place to start is to have you and your people take the STADIUM ASSESSMENT.  This will get the ball rolling and the creative juices flowing.  Another great area to visit is the Everything Project SERVICES section of our website.  Here you will find information on the different ways you can have Bob Upgren visit your organization and further explain values of the Everything Project.

"He truly has a gift of connecting with his audience that leaves an indelible heartprint" ~Mikey L. Hoeven, First Lady North Dakota

In 2001, Bob learned how to use the art of chalk. After months of practice, he performed his first live chalk drawing in front of nearly 1,000 students. Since then, he has spoken and “chalked it up” literally around the world. To date, he has created over 1,000 chalk drawings.
